Back in the Pool

Saturday morning, we began swim lessons again for Carter. He was swimming very well by last fall, but I wanted to make sure that he was confident in his skills before pool season this year.

I had hoped that the lesson[s] would be without incident, but as soon as the instructor asked them to line up to go into the pool area, Carter had a meltdown.

About 5 minutes later, after a promise of ice cream if he participated and did well {I know, probably not the best parenting technique, but I was grasping here, folks}, which he did.

Below are a few pictures of him perfecting his kicking skills with the instructor.

Could have predicted that he would balk. New things are not his favorite. He does well after he becomes accustomed. He will get back to last year and even better in a minute. Bring on summer and Bamma's pool.
love,
Bamma

So glad you were able to coax him into the pool! The inevitable meltdowns are always made better with a little promise of something sweet. Putting on my to do list to sign Avi up for swimming lessons! Thanks for the reminder!

He will be a fish in no time, I'm sure! As will Sunny! Can't wait to spend time at the beach with y'all this summer!

Love y'all!
