Day Two--Everyone's Doing a Little Better!

Carter with Mom and Dad
Many thanks to Nick for keeping the blog updated with information and pictures of Carter's arrival into this world! He has turned into quite the blogging guru! Things today are going well...I am actually starting to feel really good and Carter is sleeping and eating pretty well thus far! We have been truly blessed with this amazing addition to our family and couldn't have asked for better care. The doctors, nurses, and really everyone here at the hospital have been wonderful and taken such good care of both Carter and me. We can't tell you how much we appreciate the calls, texts, e-mails and visits from our family and friends. Thanks to all who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers throughout the pregnancy and delivery; we ask that you please continue as we tackle the parenthood chapter in our lives!
We just want to share a few more pictures of our precious Carter with you! Hopefully, late tomorrow we will be able to take him home, and then we should have even more pictures to share! Feel free to post a comment if you are checking out the updates to our site--we love to read them and know what you're thinking!

Pictures

I am boldly going places this man has never gone before. Linked below is an album of pictures from yesterday and today. Hopefully, it will work and you will enjoy the pictures. Please let me know if this does not work.

Practice Makes Perfect!

Last night, Nick and I were at Kelly & Joe Todd's house for a fun night of hanging out with friends and playing Euchre. Since I am now about a week overdue, there was lots of talk about our baby and its pending arrival (an induction is scheduled for Monday--thank goodness!). Our friends Cindy and Vince Todd had their youngest little girl, Megan, there and Nick got lots of practice holding and loving on Megan. Nick mentioned that up until this point he has changed ZERO diapers in his lifetime. I suggested that would change come Monday, and Cindy offered that he could change Megan's diaper. When they came back into the kitchen, Nick announced, "Look, I did it!" and this is what we all saw before dissolving into laugher!

Nick and Megan Todd--his first "diaper change" (ha, ha)

Turns out, Nick was just an observer as Cindy changed Megan's diaper; but, hopefully, he picked up the technique so that he will be ready when Baby Willis arrives!

The Waiting Game

Memorial Day Weekend 2007--Steve was brave enough to let us drive the boat!

Well, it's August 19th, and Clete seems to be taking his/her sweet time in deciding when to arrive! I was hoping that the next post would be of him or her, but at the prodding of my brother and father (perhaps the two least likely candidates to regularly check the blog--at least I thought so!), I decided to post an update.

I have now been on maternity leave from work for 4 weeks, and the first two or so went by quickly as I cooked, cleaned, and did all of the errands and tasks I had been putting off until I was off of work. The last two weeks, however, have been a different story.

Many thanks to my friends who have done everything to keep me occupied and my wonderful husband who has encouraged me to tag along to golf outings and done all in his power to entertain me when he gets home from work! :)

I am trying to wait as patiently as possible--I know that God's timing for the birth of our child is perfect; we just eagerly await meeting the little one! We'll keep you posted when he or she arrives!

Welcome to the Willis Family Blog!

Tailgating at the 2006 UA-Ole Miss game

Nick and I have decided to officially join the legions of bloggers out there! We figure with Baby Willis (whom Nick has temporarily affectionately nicknamed Cletus; we call it Clete for short) arriving soon, it would be a great way to share stories and pictures with those of you whom we don't get to see or spend time with as often as we would like (as well as those of you we do!)! Here are just a few pictures to whet your appetite until Baby Willis makes his/her arrival--only 19 more days until the due date!

Pictures of Clete's Nursery

We still have pictures yet to be hung on the walls and will put his or her name over the dresser/changing table once the little one actually arrives, but this will give you a nice idea of how the nursery is shaping up!

Apparently, Dontrelle thinks Clete's crib is pretty cozy!
