Easter Celebration!

On Easter Sunday, we started our day with the 8:00am service at church and then Sunday school.  We then met my parents, Button & Ken and LE at the club for a wonderful Easter lunch.
We enjoyed great food and visiting with our family on such a special day!

Carter and Callen were especially cooperative with taking pictures.

 ...until Callen decided she wasn't.
And a family pic...we haven't taken one in over a year!  Hard to believe!

We had a wonderful Easter, and enjoyed watching an exciting end of the Mas.ters too!  I hope you and your family had a lovely Easter celebration, too!

Easter Egg Hunt

We started our Easter weekend off with the annual VCC Easter egg hunt.  We went to the lunch before, so we had a little time for pictures before the festivities began.

After lunch, we received our armbands--and the fun began!
Riding on the mini-train with Daddy
Ready for the 1 & 2 yr old hunt to begin

 Hard at work collecting eggs
Then it was time for the 3 & 4 year old hunt.
You can see Carter about halfway up the hill.  I think they liked being on the older side of the age group this year!
When the hunts were over, we headed back to the activity area, which was free of big kids, who had gone to do their egg hunts, and my children enjoyed more sliding and face painting.

Callen also went down the slide quite a bit.  I thought she would be scared, but after the first time, she was all about it.

This was the aftermath of the face-painting.  They were so proud--and thankfully, it came right off! :)

It was a fun and {for them!} exhausting way to start our Easter weekend!

Back from Blogging Break

Yes, I've been absent. It seems life has been busy; full, in fact, but I have had little motivation during the quiet{er} moments of my day to actually re-count the fullness on the blog.

I won't try to catch you up post by post...I'll just do a quick catch up post.

The most exciting thing we have had happen lately is our niece/cousin's birth on March 6! My sister had a little girl, LE (pronounced "Ellie"). I was out of town, so I didn't get to meet her for a few days, but she is a precious little peanut. On the Sunday after she was born, we headed over to Button and Ken's house to let the littles meet their cousin.

Carter liked being an "older" cousin immediately!

Callen...not so much. She didn't really want to have much to do with LE. I finally convinced her to let LE hold her finger, but that was as close as she got. Once we put LE down, she was much more interested.
When we got home and I asked her why she didn't want to be close to LE, she said, "She's so little." It occurred to me then that she hasn't really been around very many little bitty babies. Not to mention she is never a fan when the attention is not on her!

Carter and Callen accompanied me to the coast for a work trip I made down there. My mom and dad were kind enough to keep them during the day while I worked. One night, I woke up to screaming and found Carter back in bed crying because he had fallen out of the bed and bumped his cheek on the nightstand. I could tell that night that it was going to leave quite a mark. This is what it looked like in the morning.

He ended up having a pretty swollen cheek and a slight black eye, but he didn't mind looking "tough!"

The week before Easter, Carter and Callen each had their parties. They both included an egg hunt, but Callen's was a picnic with parents. Unfortunately, it was sprinkling outside so they had it inside, but Callen still had a great time.

Carter's egg hunt was early in the day. He was so excited because he found 24 eggs! The party was the afternoon of Good Friday and they had their faces painted to look like Peter Cottontail!
And, I'll leave you with a picture of what I have been facing with my sweet little girl who seems to be 2 going on 22...
